Braised red onions
The smell of fried onions makes your stomach rumble and immediately draws everyone into the kitchen! Today, Monday, we have our favorite recipe for braised onions for you!
| 500 g | red onions |
| 50 g | garlic |
| 1 sprig | rosemary |
| 2 sprigs | thyme |
| 1 | chili pepper |
| 100 ml | Extra virgin olive oil |
| Hawaiian red salt | |
| Tasmanian pepper | |
| Sugar |
Preparation:
- Peel the onions and cut them, along with the core, into 6 equal-sized pieces.
- Peel the garlic and lightly crush it—this works best with a knife.
- Now place the onions, garlic, rosemary, thyme, and chili pepper on a baking sheet and toss with the olive oil.
- Season the onions with salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar, then roast them in the oven at 165 °C on the convection setting for about 25 minutes.
- The onions are done when they’re nice and soft and no longer “crunch” when you bite into them.
- Serve.
