The genus *Scallop* comprises several hundred species. Well-known examples include the Atlantic scallop and the Mediterranean scallop. In English-speaking countries, scallops are known and loved as *Scallops*. Their flesh is firm yet wonderfully tender, sweet, and juicy, with a hint of the sea! It is the muscle meat of scallops that is eaten, which is why we have focused on this and can offer you a whole kilogram of them, shell-free, for pure scallop enjoyment!

The scallops are MSC-certified and, due to their high perishability, must be pre-treated in order to be frozen without damage.
Scallops taste especially good when briefly sautéed in olive oil and served on pasta or salad. When preparing them, be sure to cook the scallops only briefly; the center should still be translucent.
Kreutzers TKF – Frozen fresh for the best quality!
For some of our products, you'll find "TKF" after the name. This means you can choose the frozen version when ordering (please don't be confused by the "best before" date on delivery; this only applies to chilled goods). For the sake of sustainability, and to prevent waste, we flash-freeze all items that we can't sell fresh in time. This is done well before the "best before" date at a storage temperature below 2°C, ensuring the product's high quality. "TKF" doesn't mean you'll receive lower quality, but simply that the product is frozen. NOTE: We recommend thawing gently in the refrigerator. For optimal enjoyment, simply place your TKF item in the refrigerator for 24 hours before preparation.
