That's what American cowboys think, and they're right! For this reason, fully grown cattle in the USA are fattened with corn, alfalfa, and grain for three months before slaughter. This makes the meat more tender, fattier, and therefore incredibly popular with connoisseurs!
While fattening does increase the fat content of the meat, the fine marbling only develops through the additional exercise! US cattle of the Hereford and Angus breeds graze for up to 18 months on the vast, wild West pastures of North America before fattening and slaughter. This gives them ample time to develop meat of such exceptional quality that we at Kreutzers.eu can offer you prime beef of the "Prime" grade! Incidentally, according to the guidelines of the NHTC program (Non-Hormone Treated Cattle Program), only meat from hormone-free rearing is permitted in Europe.
